Jackson Pollock’s No.5, 1948 was sold privately by music mogul David Geffen at a price of $140 million in 2006 and Willem De Kooning’s “Woman III” was sold privately at a price of &137 million also in 2006. It’s the most expensive painting ever sold.


The world’s most spoken language is Chinese Mandarin with 873 million speakers followed by Spanish with 322 million speakers.



The most visited museum in the world is Louvre Museum in Paris, France with an estimated total attendance of 8.5 million visitors. On the next spot is British Museum in London, UK with a total attendance of 5.93 million.



The world’s largest library is the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., USA. It was founded in 1800 and has 32,124,001 books. At second spot is the British Library in London, UK. It was founded in 1753 and has 29 million books.

The largest circulating daily newspaper in the world is Yomiuri Shimbun of Japan with an average daily circulation of 10,021,000. Asahi Shimbun is second with 8,054,000.




The largest English-Language daily newspaper is The Times of India with an average daily circulation of 3.14 million followed by The Sun of UK with 3.12 million.
